Seattle - 9 May 2005: Dog Kills Cat; Owner Owes $45,480

Seattle District Court Judge Barbara Linde has ordered the owner of a Chow which repeatly escaped to pay $45,480.12 to the owner of a cat who was killed by the dog in 2004. Albrohos Islands, Australia - 19 Mar 2005: Shark Bites Man In Half

Prague, CZ - 15 Mar 2005: Wolf Attacks Increase On Asian Steppes

Radio Free Europe reports that 20 villagers in western Uzbekistan have been reported injured by wolves in five months, with two of them succumbing to their wounds. One Uzbek says, "At night, the wolves own the village. First, they ate all the dogs. Now they have begun to eat sheep, cows [and other animals]."

Dallas, TX - 10 Mar 2005: 8-Foot Alligator Roaming Lake Ray Hubbard

"We have a lot of children and dogs in the community that walk around and we take advantage of being close to the lake. If there is an alligator present then we would definitely, you know, that's a concern," said parent Miranda Stamps. The local game warden advises anyone who sees the alligator to "just stay away."
